THE WINE ESTATE
The purchase of the slate quarry “NOLLINGEN” was the foundation for the Weiler wine estate. Today, 2.3 hectares are cultivated. Riesling and Pinot Noir vines thrive on decomposed slate and quartzite soil, all south-facing steep slopes. The Riesling is characterized by a lively acidity and harmonious bouquet; the Pinots are velvety and full-bodied.
Our range is complemented by a vineyard in the world-famous site of Assmannshausen Höllenberg where oscillating purple phyllite slate catches your eye. We take great care in environmentally friendly work in our vineyards, minimizing fertilizers and pesticides and using up-to-date methods in pest control.
Grape selection, harvest by hand and gentle fermentation procedures further enhance our endeavour for quality. After maturation in oak, wines are left to reach their full potential and harmony in our natural stone cellar deep down.
