Right in the heart of the Middle Rhine region, in the picturesque town of Bacharach, Jochen Ratzenberger, together with his wife cultivates in the third generation the three top sites Steeger St. Jost, Bacharacher Posten and Bacharacher Wolfshöhle. In 2017, he was able to acquire a substantial part of the site Schloss Fürstenberg.

The majority of the vineyards have vines of up to 50 years of age, Riesling dominates with 70%. The winemaker who tends to be reserved but well-read and pleasant has an incredible feeling for complexity, finesse and subtlety. His enormous enthusiasm fascinates and is an unerring sign for the relationship, love and inner fire for the product wine.

Beside wine production, sparkling wines play an important role. By means of long maturation on the yeast, a fine and long-lasting mousseux is the result, with aromas reminding of apple and peach. The sparkling wines are made according to the bottle fermentation method. The wine estate is a member of the VDP.
