The wine estate Speitzer can look on a wine tradition dating back to 1641. Since 1997 the wine estate is managed by the brothers Andeas and Bernd Spreitzer. The estate which is situated near the banks of the river Rhine, is quite an eye catcher with its art nouveau Villa and baroque elements. Further highlights are the vaulted cellar built in 1743 which renders ideal condition for wine maturation as well as the in 2012 newly built modern wine tasting rooms.
The wine estate has 21 hectares under cultivation, 95% Riesling and 5% Pinot Noir are grown. “Ripeness rather than Oechsle” is the motto, the aim is to harvest the ideal grapes for the respective quality segment. After the grapes are carefully selected according to their quality classification and further quality control of the grapes, fermentation takes place in wooden vats or in temperature-controlled steel tanks, giving the wine time and rest. This allows for excellent qualities so much loved by our customers.
