If a top wine maker happens to be an opera singer at the same time – the wine starts to vibrate in the glass! After completing his opera studies at the Munich conservatory of Music, winemaker Friedrich Bastian today successfully combines his artistic passion with a sound presentation of his wines. He uses new concepts, such as the musical wine theatre “Cuvée surprise”. Numerous TV performances have made this remarkable top winemaker with his special musical talent more well-known to a broader audience.

Presently 9,5 hectares are under acreage. Mostly Riesling is cultivated on steep slopes. However, there is one more special feature: the estate owns an island called “Heyles´en Werth” in the Rhine. The Estate does not only pay tribute to fine wine and music – beautiful design is also a tribute which has been awarded the iF packaging design award (for its labels)and the ”German Design Award” (for the Internet presentation).
